Yes I was able to score an iPhone 4s and it was so much easier then i thought.

So this morning I checked if my phone provider had any news about where my preorderd iPhone was. And no there was no news I was still in the 2600 on the list. And that meant that no phone for me in Canada yet.

So I went to work for a little while and at 8.30 I went to see if there was an iPhone out there with my name on it.

I stopped at the first mall I passed that I knew had an fido store this was at 8.45 there where two people sitting on a bench next to the store so I assumed they where in line for an iPhone and the store didn’t open yet, but no they where the store staff waiting for customers.

They opened early for the iPhone introduction but nobody showed yet I was the first customer. They had about 50 iPhones and the 32GB version in black they had two of witch one was the one i took.

Getting the thing activated costed them more then an hour as the system of fido was so busy that most stores got problems. In the waiting time one other person came and asked for an iPhone but didn’t buy and that was it.

So my new iPhone is amazing and it’s so fun to see how well iCloud works. I left the store with all my contacts and calendar all synced up through the cloud.

For me there will be no preordering any more this is so much easier then the hassle of trying to preorder and then not getting it on time.

Yesterday October 4 2011 Apple introduced the new iPhone 4S and before this iPhone got introduced there where many many rumours going around.

Stories about two new iPhones the iPhone 4S and an iPhone 5 where going around and around for months. It all started in the spring because Apple in the past introduced the news iPhone in June at WWDC. But this year Apple didn’t introduce a new phone at WWDC so people kept talking and talking about the new phone. Then they expected it in September because that is when Apple in the past always had there iPod events but September came and nothing happened. And then there was October and sure on October 4th there would be an iPhone event.

And so it happened that Apple today introduced an iPhone 4S witch looks like the old iPhone 4 and people go crazy about how it is not great and definitely not what they expected (hoped for).

But is this new iPhone really that bad?

Did people make such a big deal when Apple didn’t change the design between the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS?
The 3GS was a complete new phone on the inside just like the iPhone 4S is.

So the new iPhone will have a new faster processor the A5 like the iPad 2 has, it will have 8 mega pixel camera and can record 1080 video to me those are all huge improvements compared to the iPhone 4.

Ok there would have bin a lot of features that would have bin great things like LTE, NFC, different design, bigger screen and so on. But on the other hand the “old” iPhone is still way ahead of many many other smartphones on the market and this “new” iPhone will be way above most of them.

But I agree if I had an iPhone 4 maybe I would skip this version. But there are a lot of people like me that are a couple of generations behind and for them this is a great new iPhone with amazing features.

I for instance still use and iPhone 3G and this phone is working fine for me now but I am an Apple fan boy and wanted a new iPhone for a long long time now but now the time is come that my phone provider will probably give me the deal I want (and if not then i have to wait till the  end of February).

For me IOS5 is the big thing and as my phone already misses features and will not be able to get IOS5 I just have to make the switch.

For now the things I mis most on my iPhone 3G is that i can’t lock orientation of the screen and that my camera is pretty bad. Besides that cloud communication as promised in iCloud will make my life a lot easier.

At this point in time I don’t even have a data plan and I want one although I wonder how much this is gone cost my productivity while a way on the road for work.

I know that the iPhone 4S will make me happy and I know that I will be using it for a couple of years and by then everything will be different again and maybe then people again are not happy about another iPhone update.

For me the only two question I have are what version of the iPhone 4S do I get (my iPhone 3g is 16GB) and how big does my data plan need to be.

At the time that I write this post not much is known about the iPhone that is gone replace the iPhone 4.

But at websites we start to see cases for something known as the iPhone 5.
