Logiix 4 port ultra slim USB 2.o hub

Logiix USB hub 4 port mini hub

London Drugs here in Canada had this nice little Logiix USB hub on sale at boxing day for $6.99 CAD so i got my self one.

So today i unpacked the Logiix HUB and connected it to my computer.

It worked fine for about an hour 🙁 and then there was a burning smell in my office at first we could not notify the source but then after 10 minutes more my keyboard stopped working (the keyboard was connected to this hub). So after a quick check i found a burned USB hub. It was burned from the inside. The plastic was black on the inside and the label was bubbling up the outside of the unit was still fine so it was not an outside source that made this happen.

So now i am back to my good old usb 1.1 hub that is doing the trick for the last 7 years or so.

I would advice everybody to NOT try this product. It is not safe and even if the price is right i would not trust my machines with it.
